OES 468 Heavy Rents, a partnership between Centerfire Energy Group and Optimum Equipment Solutions, is pleased to announce that it has executed a joint venture agreement with Fort McMurray 468 First Nation Group of Companies, which includes heavy equipment rental services within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

We are happy to announce this exciting new partnership. This collaboration brings an additional service solution to Fort McMurray First Nation, focusing on heavy equipment rental and sales within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. We are eager to contribute to the community’s growth and development through this new venture.

FMFN Group’s success in establishing strong partnerships across a wide range of sectors has created meaningful employment opportunities for Nation Members and additional service lines to the Group of Companies. Working together with the Nation’s Economic Development team has led to new business development opportunities and continued partnership growth.

UNVEILING OF KOMATSU 980 MINING TRUCKS:

During this gathering of community members, industry guests, and employees, two Komatsu 980 mining trucks, adorned with breathtaking artwork by local First Nations artist Sandra Wiltzen, were unveiled. These trucks will be part of SMS Equipment’s fleet, to honour residential school Survivors and serve as reminder of the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.

SMS EQUIPMENT’S COMMITMENT:

Kelly-Ann Cordner, Executive Vice President of HR and Chief Human Resources Officer at SMS Equipment said, “We have identified the opportunity to continuously improve and begin taking steps in all our branches across Canada to spread greater awareness of Truth and Reconciliation and contribute to the economic sustainability of the Indigenous communities where we operate.”

A MESSAGE FROM FORT MCMURRAY 468 FIRST NATION:

Councillor Samantha Whalen beautifully encapsulated the significance of Truth and Reconciliation, stating, “Truth and Reconciliation means acknowledging the painful past, healing the wounds, restoring our cultural heritage, seeking justice, and building a more inclusive and equitable future for all Indigenous peoples. It is a transformative journey toward reconciliation, understanding, and empowerment.”

This event is a commitment to healing and unity, paving the way for reconciliation.
