New name to reflect the growth and ownership by Fort McMurray 468 First Nation
Fort McMurray, AB, March 31, 2021 – Christina River Enterprises, an oilfield services company owned by Fort McMurray 468 First Nation, announced today that it has changed its name to Fort McMurray First Nation Group of Companies (FMFN Group). The new name reflects the company’s growth, and commitment to the community it serves.
The FMFN Group a proud business entity started in 1987, established to facilitate the Nation’s opportunities to conduct business through the offering of our services and developing strong partnerships. The FMFN Group contributes to the overall growth and sustainability of our community by working with local businesses and industry partners. Since its inception, its services have expanded to include Construction, Custodial, Maintenance and Transportation Services, as well as a Petro-Canada gas station.
Along with the name change, FMFN Group is proud to reveal its new logo – 4 concentric circles designed of feathers. Four layers were chosen to represent our People, four stages of life, four seasons and four directions. The new logo has been created to honor the Nation and reflect the meaningful work performed by the company, while still paying homage to the company’s origins.
